General Rules

1) Keep your posts in 3rd person or 1st person.
2) Don't be too graphic or descriptive. Try to keep things on a downlow... I don't mind you having fun, but just don't go too overboard. If you go overboard and I will adjust your post and then tell you that it was too descriptive, etc. Leave some things to the imagination.
3) On the same note, if you feel that a post might be too violent or too provocative, please put a warning, as such:

This post may offend or scar young people. If you are a young person, my best bet is to not read it if you can not handle violence

Same thing goes for violent posts.
4) On a similar note, please try to keep stuff Rated PG-13 or R, descriptive, but not too descriptive. (Don't describe every single detail. Leave some things to the imagination.)
6) While you're in the RPG Boards: IC (In Character) POSTS ONLY! Don't post out of character unless you absolutely need to, and then, if you do, type OOC (which means Out Of Character) and then write what you need say.
8) NPC's, (Non Player Characters) or other characters that you play within your post, ALWAYS go in a different color. (No glow, but a different color.) The same goes if you're RPing more than 1 character. Also, if you post on 1st person, it's helpful to put the names above the characters IC section as well.

10) Unless you are an Admin or Moderator, you cannot open a thread in the RPG boards. If you would like to, PM one of them, and give them your suggestion, and if they like it, they will do it for you.
11) You must post a profile of your character first before doing anything else.
12) Prior knowlege of Avatar is a must. If you don't know Avatar, then you do not belong here.
13) Just because you see Aang, does not mean that you recognize him as the Avatar. Unless you've seen him before, and seen people refering to him as the Avatar, or seen him Airbend, you do not know he's the Avatar. He doesn't have a sign around him that says, "I am the Avatar."
14) If you want your character to be friends, etc., any relationship basically, with another character, PM them for permission first.
15) You cannot go on to the regular RP unless you have passed either the Battle Training in the RPG School (recieving a Good or Excellent). Failing (reciving a Fair or Poor) will result in you having to redo it before being able to move on.
16) No RP posts under 500 characters allowed.
We strive for good, long, detailed RP posts, so no posts under this amount will be allowed.

Fighting/Dueling

1) NO GODMODING! I know some people can be pretty powerful, but, please, be realistic.
2) If you are deuling or fighting, say your move, and the intention that you plan on your move making, and then wait for the other person to respond. As I said before BE REALISTIC HERE PEOPLE!
3) DO NOT make any decisions for your opponent. If they want their weapon to break, they'll break it. If they want to get hurt, they'll get hurt. You cannot do it for them.
4) On a similar note, people do get hurt in fights, but reFighter, if you give your character a lasting injury, or your character gets killed, then you must continue to play that way (or create another character).
5) On a similar note, if you're going to kill off someone's character, make sure you have their permission first.
6) If you want to learn/practice how to fight, go to the RPG School, and then Battle Training Sign-ups.

Romance
Sorry, but I mean come on.... You don't need romance in EVERY single Roleplay.... Roleplaying is not about just two love birds... It's about a group of EQUAL people, and they roleplay together, it's not a (Bad word)ing kiss fest the whole entire roleplay... That ruins everything, and it excludes the poor dateless roleplayers.(It's not really bad to be dateless...) If all the 'lovers' do is tell each other how much they love each other, what's the fun for the other roleplayers??? I've been in many of those types of Roleplays.............And it is extremely annoying to other roleplayers if you've just met a guy, and start kissing immediatly.... I mean, it's not likely for someone to immediatly find love at first sight EVERY SINGLE ROLEPLAY.........

Characters

1) Keep your names Japanese/Chinese or Japanese/Chinese-sounding, since the Avatar world is Asian-inspired.
2) On another note... have you seen a blonde or a red-head in Avatar? Didn't think so... Have you seen red eyes? No... Keep your character looking the way people from that Nation look, even though it's all mostly the same.
3) There are no Airbenders other than Aang. If post an Airbender Profile, it will be deleted without question, warning, or hesitation.
4) Be realistic. People are not especially beautiful and especially skilled. You can be beautiful, but that usually means that your fighting skills are somewhat lacking. You can be especially skilled, but that means that you are not especially beautiful. Get it? Be realisitc people. Few people are both very skilled and very beautiful. Nature just doesn't work like that usually.
5) If you are a bender, you bend ONE element, and ONLY ONE. Any people seen with two bending disciplines will be asked to change it immeidately.
6) Please, no more banished Firebenders. We have too much, and we need people to RP characters who believe in the Fire Nation's cause, and want to help Fire Lord Ozai rule the world. Also, and this is a suggestion: We could use more Earthbenders who are going to fight the Fire Nation and help free the Earth Kingdom. Also, we need more non-benders. There were plenty in the show. Oh, and we have lots of bandits, so no more of those, if you please.
7) Also, you CANNOT say in your profile that you travel with the Avatar. You can search for the Avatar, but not travel with him already in your profile. On another note, there are a lot of people already travelling with the Avatar. To make the site more fun and interesting, we need people doing other things besides travelling with the Avatar... Not everyone can travel with him.
8) On a related note to the above. It's unlikely that so many people are going to intimately know the major canon characters in the show, so do NOT say in your profile that you know, grew up with, practiced or sparred with, any of the primary characters (Aang [obviously], Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, Azula, Iroh, etc.). There are also no hitherto-unknown brothers and sisters of canon characters.
9) All OC's (Original Character's) must go through Character Development in the RPG School.
10) There is nothing with anyone being homosexual or bisexual. If you don't like, don't read.
11) On a similar note, if there is going to be homosexuality or bisexuality in your post, put a warning in bold at the top and/or contact Karena or Katara and have been edit your name into the slash warning in the Header. To do so, please tell them the name of the character, color that character is posted in, and the thread(s) they are in.
12) No characters are allowed to be Fighters of the Dai Li. They act as one entity, so they are all under the control of Co-Admin Shio, who plays Long Feng.
